As President Franklin Roosevelt once said – We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.
Aidothon aspires to embed this thinking through its programs at IIT Ropar, IFIM Bengaluru and other institutions.
At IIT Ropar, aidKRIYA is engaging through its summer internship program with some of the brightest engineering and medical students. The students were given one week exposure to the RA and IBD conditions and mentorship throughout the eight week long internship by prominent doctors amd innovators from India and abroad.
Last year, we were able to develop two mobile applications, RA-Buddy (for Rheumatoid Arthritis patients) and IBD-Mitra (for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases). These are in their beta testing stage right now and we are seeking partnerships to take them forward.
The partnership with IIT Ropar continues into its 2nd edition in May-July 2023. This year the focus is on digital twins and development of prototypes using computational methodologies and addictive manufacturing.
Often the uptake of any new technology intervention is hindered by the lack of awareness and a sustainable business model. To address this issue, aidKRIYA has been partnering with IFIM Bengaluru to reach out to hospitals, doctors and other stakeholders.
In 2023, aidothon is planning to expand its wings to other management colleges so as to curate an awareness campaign for RA and IBD that connects every Indian to the cause of ‘Joyful Joints and Blissful Bowels’.
